*

Dear Friends,

Is it hot where you are? If so, get an icy treat from the attached video brought to you by PNEH Tuan, TNS, Hien Lan, Em Ci, Caro, Biti and our artists and poet Thu Huong and M-U.

Just don't get up and dance around too much to the fun tune or you'll need extra ice cream to cool you down :-)

Many thanks to all contributors and our kind reviewers (welcome back Mai Quang !!!)

Have a happy WE,
Em Ci and Bi Ti

Dear PHEHs and Friends:

Here is my ornaments photographic representation and entry as promised to MC, of TH's boules de noel, in spirit, hihi and not in colors... Easter vs. Christmas, I hope these are similar enough.

[MC74 and Friends] Our entry for WHEN LIFE IMITATES ART - PNEHs RECREATE THU HUONG' S PAINTINGS

Dear Thu Huong, BiTwin, fellow PNEHs, poets, Mai Quang and Forum friends,

I love all of Thu Huong's paintings but if I had to chose only one, it would be "Goutte bleue".
The minute I saw the mesmerizing Goutte bleue, it was love at first sight for me:-). I could not stop thinking about it that day; and the next day, I caught myself daydreaming about it on and off while reading office memos and emails.
Looking at TH's Goutte bleue, I imagined the clear blue little drop and its indigo blue and stronger companion, following each other in a serene voyage, floating through the immense and mysterious blue universe.
Every now and then, I went back to the blog to look at it and each time it lifted away the weariness and gave me this peaceful feeling inside.

After we launched the new theme on Sunday, I wanted to recreate it but could not think of a way, so I gave up.
Then I got a call from M-U. I thought she was going to ask me whether I had cleared up the clutter she saw at my house when she came two weeks ago to pick up our parents, since Mai Han had reported to me " Mommy I got to tell you something, di\ Uye^n? said "Oh my god, what a clutter" when she entered our house"!!!!!

It turned out that my little sis was all excited about the new theme, so she called me to ask which one of TH's watercolors I planned to recreate. I told her I was working on the three light bulbs.
She said "you know, there is one that I would really like to see recreated by the PNEHs, it's the blue..."
"drop" I completed her sentence,
M-U continued "I just love that aquarelle! I was so inspired, I made a poem"
I told her "I love it too. I want to recreate it, but it is not possible for me to take a picture of two drops falling. Perhaps the professional PNEHs will recreate it"
Crafty M-U said "you don't have to take a photo of two water drops; the whole point of the challenge is in recreating your impression. You can use a teardrop earring, a bead, and a scarf"
I could not find my blue teardrop earring in my cluttered drawers, but I found exactly two blue beads, one light blue, the other indigo in Mai Han' s craft box, and I did find my blue scarf....

So here we are, M-U's and my impression of the magical Goutte bleue...

Goodnight

And ... there's no way I'll go fetch some p'te bete to complete
the picture Thu Huong oi :-)

Have a nice Sunday evening,
BT

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] my additional entry for WHEN "LIFE IMITATES ART - PNEHS RECREATE THU HUONG' S PAINTINGS"

Dear Thu Huong, BiTwin, fellow PNEHs, poets, Mai Quang and Forum friends,

I wanted to recreate Thu Huong's beautiful "coupes allonge'es", but could not find the right towel, nor could I find glasses that look similar to hers, so I hope it won't be disqualified for "hors sujet"
When I first saw Thu Huong's painting, I didn't know why but in my mind I saw the couple :-) having a picnic and lying on a checkered blanket, on the grass.
So here it is, my distorted recreation of Thu Huong's Coupes allonge'es, entitled Couple allonge'.
Sorry nhe' Thu Huong, MC se~ rang' di mua mot cai' khan trai? hinh\ carreaux va\ chup. lai. :-)

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and have a wonderful week ahead everyone

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] Whenn "LIFE IMITATES ART - PNEHS RECREATE THU HUONG' S PAINTINGS"

Aargh, BT, too bad MC rejected your first entry of the puppy, I think it was a perfect match for TH's sketches and watercolor!!!

I love your colorful bobines de fils as well, very artistic shot!

HL's gousse d'ail and MC's light bulbs were also great photography...

OK, here are my entries, 2 were previously submitted (I know, I know, they will be disqualified by MC, but this is just as reminders...)
and 2 new "creations"...

Caro

Dear BiTwin,
lovely interpretation of TH's aquarelle. I love the brilliant jewel colored of the threads, and the intricate shadow of the basket.

When "LIFE IMITATES ART - PNEHS RECREATE THU HUONG' S PAINTINGS"

Dear Thu Huong, Em Ci Twin and friends,

OK... since my Twin rejected my last entry, here's my second attempt.
I have to say it's quite a fun challenge, and I am glad Em Ci clarified the
rules because of I couldn't find the exact color thread in R's mom's
sewing basket... and this is best I can do :-)

Cheers,
BT

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] my entry for "LIFE IMITATES ART - PNEHS RECREATE THU HUONG' S PAINTINGS"

Dear Thu Huong, BiTwin, fellow PNEHs, Poets, Mai Quang and Forum friends,
Here is my first attempt (and most probably last :-)) to recreate Thu Huong's three light bulbs which she submitted for the theme Black and White.
It took me a while to find these three translucent round light bulbs in the cluttered light bulb closet, since we are now using those ugly, opaque but energy saving screwy shaped bulbs. As one was much smaller than the other two, setting them in the same way that Thu Huong placed her light bulb did not come out as nice. It actually looked so clumsy that I had to find another way to present them. I realized I needed something to place the bulbs on, so it would not show the table underneath. Looking all over the house, I finally found a sheet of printing paper in lavender color. Then it took me half an hour to hold the bulbs still as they would kept moving around (sigh). By then the sunlight changed (more sighs)....
Finally, after many trials and errors, here it is.

I must say it was a great challenge and fun to try recreating Thu Huong's painting. I hope Thu Huong will not find my imitation insulting :-)

Let BiTi and me clarify that the rule of the game is not to copy exactly Thu Huong's painting. It's about interpreting it with your photography, letting yourself be inspired by a particular painting of hers and recreate the feeling, impression of it.

Have a wonderful Sunday

Dear BiTwin, painters, poets, Mai Quang, Forum friends

Here is my additional entry, entitled "seen through a window - ice cold drink" :-). I had to take this photo at quite a distance, hence the unintentional blurry effect.
