Hello 2 ba chu
Today we completed a 3-hour trekking uphill to the Shri Kunjapuri temple, so here are my entries for red & gold. It was a strenuous climb but well worth it.
We saw the mountscape, one side was toward Nepal and the other toward Tibet
(Incidentally I also became a tourist attraction)
Ciao

Hi Caro,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photos, you don't look like you are affected by the
strenuous climb at all :-) Are those ribbons tied on the branches for
good luck?
BT
Hi Caro,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your entries. It was such a visual pleasure to look at your beautiful, luminous and exotic photos.
I must say that you looked incredibly radiant and gorgeous after three hours of climbing.

The quote “picture tells a thousand words” is so very true dear Caro!!!

Hi BT
ReplyDeleteYesterday was India's Independence Day, therefore a holiday... There were many worshippers going to the temple, mainly by bus. They buy the red and gold banners and ribbons from the store (like in the attached photo) and make offering to the Kunjapuri Goddess (who is the Goddess of Power in Hinduism) and tie the ribbon to the tree and to the shrine. It's a remote part of India and the peope were super friendly, they don't come accross many foreigners, so we are like attractions.
Boy, I'm glad I did this climb now as not sure I could make it in 10 years when (if) I retire... It was really strenuous. I was all sweating.
Cheers
Caroline
