Thank you Caro, BiTi, TNS, Tri' and Quang for your sweet and encouraging comments.
BiTi Babi, the workshop was very helpful. While the main objective of the workshop was about field composition, the notions of aperture, ISO, and shutter speed are a little clearer to me now, whether I will be able to use them instead of automatic setting is another matter :-). I read about them before but it kept slipping out of my brain like wet noodles. My instructor also explained to me how by increasing or decreasing the Kelvin temperature, one can give a different mood to the picture ( he took a photo using low Kelvin, of a pair of bare legs of a woman passing by, so the picture came out in this deep blue tone; together with the light effect, it then projected a completely different impression, going from banal to cool and mysterious. It was the only thing that I had no difficulty retaining. When my instructor mentioned Kelvin, I said, "Ooooh, Calvin as in Calvin Klein???" So now all I need to do is to remember Calvin Klein.
Quang, sorry if you were a little disappointed at the sight of the steps and the little gate at Tudor City Park in real life. It was funny when you said "ua?, no' chi? co' nhu* va^y. tho^i ha? ?". Yeah, thu*c. te^' nhie^u\ khi phu~ phang\ lam' :-)
Thank you Em Ci for sharing your experience, I wish I could be there ( at the lunch with Quang too hi hi) It's true that what a photo can make something plain/unoticeable ... gorgeous and I am not talking about models :-))
