Salut EmCi, BiTi, Lan Dior, LH- Khiêm tc and PNEH friends
Thank you EmCi for holding the blog whilst BiTi went wanderring with the fanciful gang in the city of lights
I appreciate your great collage of Grand Central (with its dreamy ceiling), the ultra modern buildings of LA, Chicago and San Diego and the green perspective of L'Arche de la Défense of our PNEH friends
Here are 3 pics for the week's theme:
1- le cadran solaire( gothique flamboyant) de la cathedrale d'Autun en Bourgogne du sud
2- Les cheminées de Gaudi, sur le toit d'un immeuble à Barcelone
3- L'abside d'une eglise en Auvergne
Belle soirée,

Hello Caro TD! I like all 3 of your photos but the one from Auvergne has special meaning for me because I was there last year for a cousin's wedding. That part of France is full of old churches. Everywhere you look, you see one! We were also in Bretagne to visit a sick relative (he has since died) and liked the local Breton architecture. We were wandering around picturesque Dinan when a local reporter stopped us to ask us a few questions on that town. I was jet-lagged and didn't feel like participating but my uncle encouraged me to answer her questions so I did. Two days later, my uncle's mother-in-law in Saint-Malo showed us their local newspaper with, yikes, our photo in it and my inane comments about "American tourists such as ourselves" . Have a nice weekend!

Caro TD :

Hello Be Diêp,
ReplyDeleteYes, there are so many magnificent cathedrals, churches in France, Italy,...
Did you climb up to Mt St Michel ? it is a splendid jewel of gothic architecture between heaven and sea although the place is very crowded all year long.
When you visit France for a few times, I bet that your French will be back eloquently in no time We are from MC no?
Porte toi bien,
TD Caro
Dear Caro TD:
ReplyDeleteLove all 3 of your photos, I just adore Gaudi art of its modernist style & I always think that he was somewhat the “transformer”
of architectonic design & modernist - even of our time…
Spectacular! Thank you Caro TD,
Liem
Thanks Caro TD for your beautiful postcard-like contributions. I truly enjoyed looking at them.
