Fw: [MC74 and Friends] My entry for portrait

Dear twins BiTi and EmCi, PNEH, hoa si, thi si, and friends,

I really enjoyed looking at all of your self portrait entries, especially EmCi's very creative collage, of which I strongly disagree with Mr. Brainy's assesment J.  I believe EmCi has acquired the "curious case of Benjamin Button" syndrome.  The differences between 35 years are huge and obvious, the dreamy eyes, silky hair, full lips, smooth skin…  I can't see her nose in the second entry, but I can only imagine it being so much more refined and cleopatra like J.  Bravo EmCi.

My apologies for being late once more for  I struggled mightily with this theme.  I could not come up with a single good idea nor have the desire to snap a self portrait picture L.  So what a good friend for, especially a long lost friend whom I haven't seen since the early 70's and a beautiful summer in Da Lat.  I'm talking about Hien Lan.  The picture below is all hers: her idea, her camera, her composition.  She even asked the bouquiniste to leave his chair so I could sit in.  Except that HE turned out to be a "SHE".  We all had a big laugh afterwards…  She (the bouquiniste) obviously didn't think it was too funny.  Luckily nobody got hurt because of this faux pas, except maybe the bouquiniste's self image and ego.  You think?

So here is my entry.  Thank you Hien Lan for bailing me out.  Look forward to seeing you next time.  Bon Weekend.

  2. Khiem oi,

That's a great pic that shows you in all your suave splendor, completely in your element. Shall we bestow on you the title of King of the Bouquinistes :-)?

  3. Dear Ktc,
Thank you for your kind compliment, and specially for strongly disagreeing with Mr. Brainy :-) About my nose, can I tell you a secret of the trade? The reason I used those big flowers was to hide my nose which, according to a very sincere male friend, looked as if an elephant sat on my nose when I was a baby :-).

Thank you for your contribution (which was not late at all - we have until next Thursday, as the collage will only be out next Friday) and the very funny behind the scene story about the bouquiniste :-). Hien Lan did a wonderful job as the photographer, and you looked great and... too elegant and cool for a bouquiniste, even as a French one :-).

Have a wonderful weekend with your other half

  4. Hello Khiem

Such a refreshingly sleek, cool image of Lucky Luke, the urban, but not so lonesome
cowboy, in a distant land, a long long way from home

Completely at ease on the city sidewalk, happily trading in his saddle for a comfy seat, he would gladly take on the new role of the smooth city slicker, a transition
as effortless as if he was born, destined to be one

As to throughly enjoy his moment in the sun, resting on his laurels, mostly people watching, checking out the scene, his glory days of conquering the old wild wild west, now, only a distant memory in his elusive, yet very lucid mind, when needed be
