Re: [MC74 and Friends] gentle reminder to PNEHs re: Summer

Dear Ms EmCi, Ms BiTi, talented PNEH's, fellow bloggers, discerning commentators:

It really is a tough job to follow Ba` Tu`mLum TH, after she posted her photos. No way to match her terrific "Summer" entries!

But you "play the hands you're dealt". So I will submit my humble entries for "Summer", per Ms EmCi's directives, hoping for continued generosity, magnanimity and kindness from our esteemed commentators.

These were street scenes in Santa Monica, on the 3rd Avenue Promenade, summer 2011.

Happy Summer to all,
T.

  1. Dear Thua^n\,
Thank you for diligently working on the entries for Summer and sharing with us through your camera the summer street scenes in Santa Monica. The results of your work are very nice.
Rather than summer heat, your pictures project a feeling of lightness. They also evoke some of the sweet and simple pleasures in life. The little sign in the photo of the dancer (which is also the one I like the most) sums it all: Life is a dance. I also like the pictures of the dancing couple and the singer from the back.

  2. Dear Ms EmCi:

Without fail, you have consistently shown diligence and a spirit of generosity, kindness in your comments, which I appreciate very much. My work pales in comparison to the wonderful entries submitted by the many "professional" PNEH's in this forum. Thank you for your compliments. I will not let them give me an "illusion of grandiosity" -:).

  3. Hi Thuan,

Very nice summer photo entries! I especially like the one of the charming couples doing the Argentine Tango outdoors in Santa Monica. I must have missed it the few times I was in SM... The pic reminds me of our summertime tradition here in DC with its outdoor Argentine Tango dance every Sunday evening in Freedom Plaza (see attached photo). I hope you've joined those dancers at one time!

  4. Hi Trang:

Your discerning eyes are absolutely correct: that couple were doing the Tango. There were people doing the ChaCha, Samba, etc. on the streets. It was quite a festive scene, which frankly I don't think I captured it's full spirit in those photos. I did not join those dancers, for my whole preoccupation was to complete my homework assignments from the very stern Ms EmCi -:).
