[MC74 and Friends] my entry for contrasts
Dear twin BiTi, fellows PNEH, painters, poets, Mr. Kiu and Forum friends,
It has been raining non stop here for the last two days (and it is still thundering outside right now); so I could not go out and shoot photos for the new theme. Plus, I don't have any idea what to shoot either. Those are my very good excuses. But it is strange that no one else seems eager to send in entries, including TNS who is usually the very first, "ra^t' la\ nhanh nha^u?", to open the show. I wonder what the reasons are? :-)
So, while waiting for the rain to go away, and my inspiration to return, I went through my photo files to see may be there are some pictures that could be used for CONTRASTS,
and luckily found this one taken at Musee Magritte in Brussels.
Goodnight and have a nice and peaceful Thursday
from Be^n Bo*\ So^ng

Hello Mai Chau
ReplyDeleteEven at a glance, quite a notable, compelling study in contrast of the photographic kind
A tale of 2 generations, decades apart, the young lady, Mai Han,
the elder man, self absorbed in their own little world,
their favorite means of escape, as diverse as the media being used
One resorted to spending his precious time, the old fashion way, passionately reading book, while the other casually playing around with her newfound gadget
A visible sign of the time that differentiates the change in taste, or personal
preferences spanning years of separation
Of a more noticeable nature, the eye catching picture, the fully clothed painter working on the finishing touch, of the nude woman, that played up
to the ever intriguing, appealing notion of contrast
Quang
Hi MC,
ReplyDeleteyou never run out of ideas. Hien
Dear Em Ci,
ReplyDeleteGreat shot ! I agree with Quang, it totally captures the contrast between the
generation and their habits and in a beautiful setting which they both ...
ignored :-)
BT
Hi MC
ReplyDeleteI concur with Quang and our friends - Your entry is a tour de force with a study of double contrast
The naked woman vs the fully clothed man is a study of contrast on its own topped by the generation and gender contrast between your young daughter and an elderly man, both absorbed in their chosen media. Another layer of contrast is the black and white of the painting set against a full color backdrop of the museum. Bravo!
Caro
Hello Caro
ReplyDeleteWhat a great observation, about, perhaps the most glaring contrast,
the more obvious interplay of the black, white enlarged photo against the full color backdrop, the blue wall, the bright, illuminating lights, the red warmup ...
Which proves, that sometimes, when one looks too close, pays too much attention to the details, the bigger picture just goes unnoticed
Quang
