Dear 2 ba chu blog, fellow PNEH, painters, poets, Mr. Kiu, and Forum Friends,
TGIF ! And thank God for the first day of fall in the northern hemisphere. The hottest recorded summer in Texas (and for a large part of the US) has finally come to an end, although the drought still persists wreaking havoc and long term damages to our land, people, flora and fauna.
I did find a very dusty and old camera in my son’s closet and thought of the current PNEH theme. I can’t imagine taking pictures nowadays with this old camera with a roll of film of only 24 exposures, wait a day for the development to discover that possibly none of the pictures are any good, and then how to post the pictures on the blog? Picasa? Make a diaporama? Or even email them? And God forbid, photoshop them… J
Such anachronism and contrast with today’s instant gratification needs !
Enjoy your weekend !

Great anachronical contrast Mr. Ktc and FYI we had a heat wave at the beginning
ReplyDeleteof this week ! I am really turning into a brown onion :-)
Have a great WE,
BT
Dear Ktc,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your nice and clever entry. As a PNEH, I love the subject of the photo. I also like the way the items are presented in the shot, and the fact that the bright yellow of the film roll versus the neon blue on the digital camera, both dynamic colors, play up the dusty grey color of the "antique" camera.

Hello Khiem
ReplyDeleteVery well said, with charm, wit, if not elegance, the remarks about the old camera,
in the context of anachronism
When it comes to turning back the clock, relive a beautiful moment in time,
what better way, than to turn the lens back to the old trophy
A thoughtful, original idea, the old, dusty camera sitting pretty, taking center stage,
the old fashioned film roll, a thing of the past, both lovely gadgets for the photography enthusiast,
next to the digital one, the versatile gizmo in this day and age of practicality

Hi Mr. Kiu, EmCi, BiTi, sis KL,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your generous words. What can be said about our resident art critic’s reviews, but elegance, thoughtful, and always on the mark J.
The Reflections portfolio is indeed stunning with all its splendid colors and images. And what a fitting tribute to all the participating PNEH and a good start to the new week with a What a Wonderful World diapo by brown Onion, or is it Sugar?
Have a good week !
Ktc
Thank you Mr. Ktc
ReplyDeleteHave a good week,
Molasses :-)
