Dear MC, BT, Trang, KLiem, Caro, AiMy, NLan, THuong, Thuan, Quang, Son, Triet, Tuan, Khiem,  PNEH and Friends,

Your pictures and your paintings are gorgeous. I loved seeing each and every one of them.

We visited Montreal and Quebec City this weekend and the theme o^ and du` never left my mind. Since MC la canadienne I was excited to take a few shots of the umbrellas I saw in order to contribute to the blog cua hai ba chu? EmCi and BiTi.

The first 4 pictures were taken at Old Quebec, Place Royale/Chateau Frontenac.

The next ones were at Marche aux fleurs rue Ste Catherine Montreal and the Fete/Parade des jumeaux in Montreal (their theme was Vive les maries).

But most importantly a picture of an adorable set of triplets that I'm dedicating to MC, BT and Trang.

Thanks also TH for thinking about this Canadian at heart while strolling in Quebec City and taking photos of umbrellas, and for the cute triplets photo dedicated to BiTi, Trang and me.

Dear BiTi and fellows PNEH, hoa si, thi si, and art critic,
here is my last entry for umbrellas. I thought I had finished with the theme, but yesterday when I saw two sunbrellas taking a break near Dag Hammarskjold Plaza at lunch time, I could not resist pulling out my camera. Then I had the same impulse later on in the evening, as I walked along 42nd Street, and passed by some sunbrellas across the street from Grand Central Station, and in Bryant Park (where Fashion Week in NYC usually took place).

( At night, In Santa Monica, Calif.,  the alleys inside the shopping mall & the carrousel are pretty spectacular  )

Hi Be Lan,

I love the last pic of the two young women walking under the umbrella. What a sweet tender moment captured  forever on camera! The first one is quite artistic with the cool reflection of the water.

Your second entry of the closed parasol paves the way for me to submit my own Umbrella entries, some of which also show a closed umbrella, if hai ba chu blog don't mind stretching the definition of umbrellas a bit. These were all taken in Barcelona in late May. Wish I were back there walking its narrow streets...

Dear Ms EmCi, Ms BiTi, talented PNEH's, fellow bloggers, discerning commentators:

It really is a tough job to follow Ba` Tu`mLum TH, after she posted her photos. No way to match her terrific "Summer" entries! 

But you "play the hands you're dealt". So I will submit my humble entries for "Summer", per Ms EmCi's directives, hoping for continued generosity, magnanimity and kindness from our esteemed commentators.

These were street scenes in Santa Monica, on the 3rd Avenue Promenade, summer 2011.
