Fw: [MC74 and Friends] my entries for Self Portrait

Dear fellows PNEH, hoa si, thi si, Mr. Kiu,

Here are my two entries for Self Portrait with 35 years apart between the first entry and the second.
The first one is a framed picture of myself on my 20th birthday, a present from my eldest brother. My brother saw this picture of mine in a magazine, so he put it in a frame and gave it to me.
The second one is my attempt at self portrait last week, amidst the beautiful flowers (from... euhhh...my neighbors' garden :-)), in the rain. Thanks to the suggestion from my in- house expert, I used the rotating screen of my beloved camera, hence did not need help from Mr. Tripod ( to borrow LH's words), and was able to zoom in the iris and rhododendron so you could see how gorgeous they were with the raindrops on them. Please glue the four pieces (no. 1,2,3,and 5 ) together to have a full picture of my face  :-), put BiTi's body in her bikini in the middle, and place my feet (no. 4), et voila\, portrait completed.

Have a happy and peaceful weekend
from Be^n Bo*\ So^ng

  3. Thanks BiTi. I think the most khie^u go*i. part is the one not shown on the picture, ie the body in the bikini :-)

Thanks Trie^t' for your compliment. You are so observant! I don't have one more wrinkle now than in the picture framed by my brother :-)

  7. Hello Mai Chau

As the saying went, "patience had its virtues, to those who waited" but still
be could very frustrating, at times !

    "Nhin hinh` up' up' mo*? mo*, moi` moc? muo^n tha^y die^n cai da^u` :-)

Kidding aside, such a wonderful, artistic set up for your self portrait, that left
a lot to the imagination, when less is definitely much more !

Just loved the 20th birthday gift by Anh Han, very ingenious and creative,
somewhat an uncanny reflection of little sis, in her prime :-)

  8. Dear MC - The God cried again when he solved the puzzle on your second collage. He uttered: "Pulchritudinous!"

  9. I had to look up the word pulchrituidinous, I like how urban dictionary explains
    it :-)

" Despite all evidence to the contrary, pulchritudinous is used to describe
a person of great physical attractiveness. No one is quite sure why this is,
because the word *sounds* like something unpleasant on the bottom of your
    shoe.

This is possibly due tothe fact that it shares sounds with words such as
    sepulchre,
    repulsive, cretin, lewd, and pus.

It's a good word to use when you'd like someone to *think* you're insulting
    them. "

I concur :-) Thanks God and TNS for enriching our life / vocabulary hi hi

    Have a great weekend,
    BT

  10. like your suggestion, BT, to use this word when you want people to think that you are insulting them :)

Your explanation of why it is so, is really clever too :) Gave me a good laugh !

  11. Hello Bao Tram

Thanks for providing us the explanation for such a fancy term, as I did not remember ever coming across such a thing

Judging from the pure sound of it, it did sounded quite mean and nasty :-)
kind like some bloody swear, a la Shakespeare !

I was very surprised its true meaning was the complete opposite of what it
sounded like, or was meant to be

Wouldn't it be fun to have it, on the spelling bee contest :-) ?
or the missing vowels on the tv show "Wheel of Fortune"
with the lovely Vanna White !

  12. Thank you Ai' My~ for your very kind compliment.

    BiTi, Ai' My~ and Quang,
I admit that when I first saw the word pulchritudinous, I wondered what I did that offended God, or his messenger TNS so much, until I looked up the meaning of the word :-)
