Fw: [MC74 and Friends] my entries for Self Portrait

Dear fellows PNEH, hoa si, thi si, Mr. Kiu,

Here are my two entries for Self Portrait with 35 years apart between the first entry and the second.
The first one is a framed picture of myself on my 20th birthday, a present from my eldest brother. My brother saw this picture of mine in a magazine, so he put it in a frame and gave it to me.
The second one is my attempt at self portrait last week, amidst the beautiful flowers (from... euhhh...my neighbors' garden :-)), in the rain. Thanks to the suggestion from my in- house expert, I used the rotating screen of my beloved camera, hence did not need help from Mr. Tripod ( to borrow LH's words), and was able to zoom in the iris and rhododendron so you could see how gorgeous they were with the raindrops on them. Please glue the four pieces (no. 1,2,3,and 5 ) together to have a full picture of my face  :-), put BiTi's body in her bikini in the middle, and place my feet (no. 4), et voila\, portrait completed.

Have a happy and peaceful weekend
from Be^n Bo*\ So^ng

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] new theme self portrait

Dear BT, MC and friends

I am so impatient to see BT new collage  of monuments and building theme since all the entries are so exceptional !

I also would like to congratulate to our forum 's PN old and new : your contributions are so valuable . we can have a glimpse of all the famous places immortalized by our globetrotters...I have enjoyed them very much and admit that we are all talented PN (mèo khen mèo dài duôi, excuse me !)

The last 2 weeks were very hectic for me with travel and work but I try to catch up your mails as much as I can...
Thank you LH , CTT, HH for sharing the pictures taken in Paris and I trully enjoyed the moment spent with BT and the cool gang.
Friendship should be this way : light heart and enjoy the moment and nothing else !

Hien Lan, I enjoyed so much your company : you are cool and truthful...I can only appreciate it and keep warm feeling in my heart.

Quang and MC be prepared ! NYC, here we come and it is sooner than you think ! You can see all your PN friends en chair et en os !

My dear BT,and sweet MC here attached my entries for your new theme : Je me lance pour que les autres me suivent...right BT ?
They all were taken by myself with my humble camera Sony with my long arm streched out above my head, so the face is a bit deformed but what the hell, this is just for fun and for the theme, we need no perfection ....

pict 1 my first test couple days ago
pict 2  was taken while I walked along the lake this morning
pict 3 was taken by my friend and I when we were attending the 40th BD of my friend last month and no one was there to take us together so we gave a try and it turned out  very good !

I hope you enjoyed it and I send you all my warm feelings from this side of the continent....

RE: [MC74 and Friends] Buidlings, monuments to be continued until this Friday, and theme for the week after

Dear 2 ba chu blog, fellows PNEH, hoa si, thi si, friends,

What a difference a week or two make.  I was wandering the streets of Opera in Paris with friends just yesterday it seems.  Today it’s back to be a lonesome cowboy riding the streets of Dallas L.  To contrast with the grand traditional architecture of Europe, below is a picture of the recently completed 2200 seat Windpear Opera House in Dallas designed by Norman Foster.  I certainly can’t do justice to the beauty of the facility so here’s the link that will provide a much better overall view (http://www.wayfaring.info/2009/12/10/winspear-opera-house/).

And since I’m a lonesome cowboy without “Jolly Jumper”, I have to drive around town looking for one.  Luckily, I found a bunch.  They’re called “The Mustangs of Las Colinas”.  Las Colinas is a suburb just outside of Dallas where many companies are headquartered, e.g. ExxonMobil, Fluor, etc.

Enjoy and have a great holiday weekend everyone !

Re: [MC74 and Friends] Buidlings, monuments to be continued until this Friday, and theme for the week after

Hi Hai bà chu² Blog

Thuy' Hoà's post allowed me to hitch onto her
late posting and send you my contribution on Buildings and monuments.
I wanted something that stood apart.

I found this monument in 2009 in Da Nang, this Pagoda statue is actually a building .
You can see the 2 students walking at its base, for scale. You can see the door and the
round windows openings higher on the back too. Inside is a large library on Dharma
with thousands of volumes and a stairway going to the top.

Mr. Xe ôm driver told the story of this statue, it was built in 1972 by an ARVN lieutenant colonel of the công-binh,
and now restored by the actual local Town mayorship.

There was a Spirou and Fantasio episode where they went to China-Tibet and there was a huge empty Buddha statue acting as a prison there...
Thanks Thuy' Hoà  :)

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] my entry for buildings & monuments

Dear Em CI, Mr. Kiu and friends,
Attached is my entry for this week's theme, I took these pics while
loitering with Z friends.
Let's see:
The centerfold pic is actually taken by H Lan, while I had my
head down between my knees as em Be weaved in and out of
traffic at the rond-point Etoile-CDG, but it's my camera so I
think I can claim ... some credit (right em CI? :o))
Then clockwise from the top left:
(1) a view of Notre Dame from our many walk-arounds ile de
la cite', to ile St Louis, in search of Bertillon ice cream... our
local guide (ahem) mai noi' chuyen quen ca duong :-) ... having
us cross and re-cross song xen (2) which I don't mind coz I love
the buildings along the rives like (3)
(4) Place des Vosges, the fire incident I already recounted that
allowed us a free drink at the cafe on the rez-de-chaussee
(5) Hotel de Ville, which we also passed and re-passed a few times
in the course of 2 afternoons
(6) not sure ... what building this is with the horseman, maybe one
of our Parisian friends can identify it?
(7) front view of Notre Dame where many group pics were taken
of many MC models :-P
(8) i won't mind having a chambre de bonne here :-)
That's it for now, stay tuned for a tabblo recounting more juicy
details in the near future.
Cheers,
BT

Dears friends PNEH

Today , a suspicious package at the Cité Universitaire station requires all RER B suburban southern terminus at Port Royal station . Walking along the Boulevard St Michel , I take this opportunity to play roving photographe

The church of the Val de Grâce is the chapel of a former royal abbey in the 5th arrondissement of Paris and the dôme is a principal landmark of the skyline of this arrondissement .
The abbey now houses the museum of Armed Forces Medical Sevice , Central Library of the Health Department of Armies and the Ecole du Val de Grâce , formely School of Application of Military Health Service .

Dear hai Ba` Chu? blog, and fellow bloggers:

Thank you all for the fabulous photography, painting and poetry. Special thanks to Queen LH and Diva BL for sharing pictures of beautiful people in beautiful Paris.

I have a very modest contribution of a few pictures of views seen from the Griffith Observatory building in Los Angeles. In the first picture, one can see the "HOLLYWOOD" sign, and in the last 2 pictures, the city of LA is seen in a distance. Not great pictures, but go'p mat cho vui.

A Triet un poème d'amour sur fond de gratte-ciel.:) Merci pour les photos.

O monument grand,
Je te vois de mon coin,
Te dresser jusqu'au firmament,
Et Amour ne s'en ressent moins!

O Chicago céleste
Tu ne m'as jamais dit: 'Reste!'

Dear MC & Romantic PNEH Friends,Luckily, I have some pictures in L.A. from my photo class to share:

The Walt Disney Concert Hall is a pretty artistically construction in Downtown Los Angeles. There is a famous alley to walk to the Hall that is so fantastic to see as well.

My entry for Buildings, monuments

My dear fellows PNEH, hoa si, thi si and art critic Mr. GQ,
One of my most favorite places in Manhattan is the very romantic Grand Central Terminal where I spent many lunch hours walking around, to look at its ceilings and lights, take pictures of the people, the building and the shops, and sometimes buy my lunches at its food market.
Here is my collage in tribute of the GCT.
The photo of the Gemini constellation on the ceiling is for my twin BiTi, Trang and all fellows Geminis; since the Cancer is right next to it, the photo is also for all the Cancer members of the Forum to enjoy :-).
The day I took the photo of its big windows, there was some people who were probably doing some restoration survey, standing high up there, across the windows area. I thought to myself how lucky I was to be at the right time, as this added to the coolness of the windows. If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you could see some of the people wearing hard hats and holding most probably some architecture plans.
The chandelier in the shape of branches is right at the Lexington entrance of the GCT Market.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday
from Be^n Bo*\ So^ng

Entries for this week's theme: "Buildings and Monuments"

Dear Twins and fellow PNEH members,Since this week's theme is what Americans would call a "gimme" for a Chicagoan, I want to be the first instead the last to post my entries. Here they are: (1) a view of the Chicago skyline shrouded in fog, taken from our Navy Pier; (2) Two Chicago landmarks side-by-side, one old (the Wrigley Chewing Gum building) and one brand new (the Trump Tower); and (3) a view of the skyline from the Chicago River that runs through the city.Next, let's see if anyone can come up with poetry on Buildings and Structures (probably won't be a love poem but TC may surprise us yet!).

Amities,
Triet

Late entry on the theme of :"Posters"

Dear EmCi and other Pho Nhom,

My apologies for the late entry but I just came across this poster today:"See Red" (Voir Rouge). It's for our Chicago Bulls basketball team, who are enjoying their best season since the Michael Jordan era. Sorry about your Lakers, dear L.A. friends, but it's time for a new NBA champion. :-)
