[MC74 and Friends] Trees and MORE trees :-)

This hundred year-old dragon tree is located at the Del (Hotel) in Coronado, one of the major tourist attractions in San Diego.

When home was still San Diego, it was one of my favorite places to spend an afternoon at the beach. The other place was La Jolla beach and its restaurant row. The Del and its white sandy beach always stirs indelible memories in me.

Did you know that this dragon tree was used as backdrop in the Marilyn Monroe movie, Some Like It Hot, which was filmed at the Del in 1958?

[MC74 and Friends] TREES

DEAR  MAI  CHAU , BAO  TRAM  AND  FRIENDS
I  LOVE   MC ' S  HANAUMA  BAY   TREE , BT' S    NAKED  OAKTREE ,  NHU HOA ' S  BAMBOOS  , TRIET ' S  FOGGY  TREE  .  HERE  ARE  MY  ENTRIES  FOR  TREES    BIZ   HL

Dear twin BiTi, fellows PNEH, painters, poets, Mr. Kiu, and Forum friends
I like trees, therefore it goes without saying that I like this theme a lot. Mu*ng\ nhu* bat' du*o*c. vang\. nhie^u\ hinh\ qua' kho^ng bie^t' gu*i? cai' nao\...tru*o*c' da^y :-). Thanks Caro!BiTi, don't worry about me kicking you out of the blog, you may be kicking me out first after seeing the number of entries that I am submitting here.
You may need to make a collage just for my entries alone :-).

I love BiTi's trees
I also love Caro's palm, bamboo trees and bonzais.

Unlike BiTi and Caro, I am not good at botany, thus I don't know the names of the trees in my photos; all I can tell you is where I found them :-)

-My first photo was taken in Rive Sud.

-My second tree was found near the parking lot of Hanauma Bay, looking as if it had a part in the movie Lion King.

-My third tree was seen at Waimanalo Beach.

-My fourth one was taken in Manhattan. I was walking around with my camera today, with the intention to capture some street scenes for the future theme suggested by TNS, when I looked up and saw the two trees with all these pigeons resting on their branches.

-The picture of the trees in the collage was taken yesterday, in my neighbors' backyard. The whole day was quite cloudy, then suddenly there was some sunlight that came through the clouds at sunset, illuminating the sky with hues of pink and blue. I ran out to take pictures of the trees, and got attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes. One was so hungry, it tried to suck the blood out of my poor camera. (chac' con muo^i~ no' nghi~ bung. kho^ng bie^t' ai ma\ minh\ ddo^ng\ da sat' the^' nay\, hut' mai~ kho^ng du*o*c!). So I quickly retreated back to my house after only a few snapshots which I made into a collage.
-My last photo was from Montreal; the tree stood at the corner of Crescent and Sherbrooke. There were a few of them lining Crescent street.
Goodnight and have a nice Tuesday
from be^n Bo*\ So^ng

[MC74 and Friends] My entries for the Tree theme

Dear Triplets & PNEH-ers,

Here are my entries for the Tree theme:

1. "Misty backyard": majestic oak trees on a foggy evening
2. 'Scary tree": A Halloween preview!
3. "XMas Tree": A rather obvious idea, but I wanted to grab it before someone else thinks of it. :-)

Cheers,

Triet

Re: [MC74 and Friends] Trees and MORE trees :-)

Hi BT and friends

Les grands esprits se rencontrent... I have an almost identical photo of palm trees swaying against the blue sky!!! Then here are my other trees like towering bamboos, bonzai trees...

[MC74 and Friends] Trees and MORE Trees

Youpiiiiiii !! looks like I am going to open shop for this week's theme of ... TREES !

So let me start with some local celebrities:

1. the famous LONE CYPRESS (for non-locals, this cypress is very lonely and would love
for you to come and pay it a visit, it's sitting at the border of the Ocean Pacific off
of the 17-mile drive in Carmel Northern Cal )

2. the ancient and equally famous (for golfers :-)) 14th hole cypresses
at the Cypress Point Golf Course at Pebble Beach also off the 17-mile drive.

3. believe it or not it's a MAGNOLIA TREE that some dude decided to shave into in
giant blunt pointy thing :-) and it's almost as famous  :-) because it's growing
at the front of the Filoli mansion whose exterior is used for the setting for the
Carrington Mansion on the TV series Dynasty. ( So folks if you think it's in Colorado,
you've been fooled, it's right here in Woodside, Northern Cal._ :-))

OK enough of celebrities, now to trees that I like :-)

4. the oak tree that I walk by every other day and didn't notice until I brought
the camera with me one day in the winter time, when it's naked :-)

5.  Palm trees (I love palm trees especially when they are conversing with clouds hi hi)

6.  and last but not least, this tree or more like SPOOKY tree trunk at a friend's house in
Mendocino that looks like it's carved ... and the carving looks to me like a guy with his
head bent to the left ... I was really spooked and wouldn't stay in the house by myself ...
(Em Ci babi, that's the only time I was afraid of being home alone :o))

Let me know if you want more trees ... I better stop or my Twin will kick me out
of the blog :-)

Cheers,
BT

[MC74 and Friends] ANACHRONISM

Dear Em Ci my Twin, Mr Kiu, fellow PNEH and friends,

Here are my anachronic photos. The first two are taken earlier this week in Santa
Cruz and Capitola and the last two at the Concours D'elegance (classic car show)
a few years ago.

1.The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk's Looff Carousel is a National Historic Landmark,
still turning merrily even though it just turned 100 year old this year, a local treasure for children old and young :-)

2.The 'masochistic' hopefully anachronic :-) flip flops

3 and 4. Two beauties from the Concours D'elegance

Cheers,
BT
