My favorite is the Ferris Wheel.

Here's something I wrote several years ago, when Cara was in high school and volunteered with a hospice care program called Vitas.  I used to pick her up on gray days like this.  She would get into the car, put her iPod on, and stay silent the whole ride home.  I guess that was her way to recharge.

I hope this is not too late for the theme Pink.

EmCi may remember that for a long time, I was trying to locate a MC76 classmate named Đoàn Quốc Hoà.   I'd like you two to know that I have now found *my* long-lost twin (one of Hoà's birthdays is June 18 - long story).  After 30+ years, he has lost none of his Tigger bounciness, which an Eeyore like me sometimes find annoying.:-)  But I'm also intensely proud of him.  He's now a pediatrician who has led countless medical missions to underserved areas of Vietnam.  Looking at some pictures he took on one of those trips, I particularly liked this one of a little girl at the edge of the Mekong river.  With his permission, I wrote some verses to go with it.

here are my entries for the theme FRUITS/VEGGIES HARVESTED IN THE FALL, from my favorite shopping place every Wednesday from summer to fall.
Most entries were taken at 8am this morning, except the eggplants, and the pumpkins sitting on the steps (I recall the latter one was taken on my way back from lunch with Mai Quang, so I expect Quang to give it a good review :-)). I enjoyed taking pictures of the veggies so much that the lady who sold the veggies handed me a huge butterfly worm on a leaf, for me to take a picture. She was going to take it back to the farm to feed the chicken but I kept asking her if she wanted me to release it to the nearby park for her, that she finally said "ok, you do it", just to get rid of ...me :-). I held the leaf with the worm on it and walked across to the garden to release it, but I must admit I was a little worried that it would crawl on to my hand. I don't know what I would do if that happened.
The last one is the photo of the worm, just to share with you, not to be posted on the blog, hope the female members of the Forum will not faint.

A.Vinh sang at our 30th wedding-anniversary party 5 years ago around this time.

Poem for HAND

 

Dear BCBG Caro, BiTwin, fellow PNEHs, painters, poets, Mai Quang, Forum friends,

The first entry is my little sis's M-U poem on HAND and my attempt to illustrate her verses.

As my little sis got to call the shot (believe it or not, it has always been that way ever since she was old enough to express what she wanted - I still remember vividly those sentences "nhu*o*ng\ em" , "em no' be'...." :-):-):-), I had to give her a few choices. I also had to endure many sarcastic remarks from Chuong who reluctantly modeled for me (Mom! Seriously, you need to step up your game. How many times you need to take a picture of my little finger? You know this is why you were not able to take a good picture on the streets, you have to know what you are doing and do it fast....).Finally I got the photos I needed, made two collages and presented to my little sis. Of course the version I liked better, she rejected. So I am submitting it here as my own entry :-)

Here's my entry for this week's theme; "Hints of spring" made me think of falling in love for the first time dancing a first dance...

A.Vinh and I spent 15 minutes taking what should have been a simple snapshot.:-)  I have renewed respect for the photographers on this forum who reportedly take 1200+ pictures in a day, take pictures with one hand, take pictures with their cell phone, iPhone... all with amazing results.  Anyway, I'll let you guess which part of the picture I ended up using for the background.
