Subject: [MC74 and Friends] Entry for stripes

Dear Biti, Emci and friends,

Please allow me to submit the photo of my niece with blue eyes for your "Stripes" theme .

You can see the stripes on her dress and on the bag behind her :) but mostly I'd like for you to see her blue eyes and her adorable face.

And for those of you who wonder, both her parents are Vietnamese and no, my sister in law did not.... fool around with the mailman :))

It is somehow a miracle of the gene pool but we certainly love it !

Umbrellas

Dear EmCi,

I have to give it to you, you do have a way with words :) I could not sleep out of guilt till i can dig up this weekend among my vacation photos to look for a picture with umbrellas, no matter how small they are :) so I can send it in order for "your poor twin Biti to have her simple wish" :))

So here they are, the 2 best I could find with some sort of umbrellas ( taking pictures of umbrellas does not fall in my normal routine during vacation :) I hope you wont penalize me for trying to fit a square into a circle and will accept my photos as suitable for the umbrella theme (even if you have to use a magnifier to locate them in the pictures :)

AiMy

PS: i would run to Fashion Island over the weekend to take some umbrella pictures but I saw on the blog that DocAwake already... stole my idea :)) I have to remind Doc Awake of the law of territoriality , Fashion Island is for Newport Beach residents , hihihi...J/k, your pictures are awsome, Doc Awake and they remind me of how lucky I am to be within walking distance of such a pretty outdoor mall.

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] Summer theme

Dear Emci &Biti and friends,

BT  said:

> I also love the summer aquarelles, THuong oi dep qua' , TNS's beach
> umbrella with the pretty lady, Liem's colorful umbrellas (great job!),
> Caro's super cute photo, and Tuan's pool photo. For me aussi, somehow
> the scene and sound of poolside always bring to mind summer time, and
> souvenirs of the days at CSS !!!

Your wish is my command, BT :) so i'd like to send in this picture  for the "summer " theme :  a pool surrounded by cabanas, taken at 8pm on a summer night .  Does it remind you of CSS?

I thought it is lovely and peaceful so you can forgive the poor quality of my photo :)

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] Theme : Tasting pleasures

-Dear EmCi,

MC noi kheo qua, kie^'n AM trong hang cu~ng pha?i bo` ra :)

To comply with your ultra soft and gentle (it  sounds  more like your eyes :)) than  Downy ) reminder, here are my entries , both from my trip last week to Columbus, OH to visit my daughter during her clinical rotation there .

1. " Dinner of a Dutch Merchant" , stolen from the  modest collection of the Columbus Museum of Art . I thought that the abundance of seafood ( the red lobster in all its glory :) was unusual for a European meal in the 18th-19th century but nonetheless the opulence of the meal would be very pleasurable, especially to a glutton like myself :)

2.  "Ahi Tuna Wonton", a  delicious  appetizer at Eddie Morton's restaurant , something unexpected for a Californian like myself to find in a mid-west restaurant, very light and tasty with a taste of wasabi mixed with terriyaki sauce. I am hoping your twin BT will replicate it and post the recipe on her food blog for our enjoyment :)

The quality of the pictures has a lot to desire, my camera being from" mot ngan chin tram ca? co^. " :) and I am a terrible photographer, having no understanding on light, nor motion nor speed nor shutter ....etc..
Please feel free to disqualify them, I am just trying to show my goodwill  in response to MC's ultra soft and gentle reminder :)

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] entry for this week theme - Attitudes

Dear Friends,

To eat my own words and disclaimer :) I could not resist submitting a 2nd entry for the week : the photo of my niece, the apple of my eyes, for the theme of " Children with attitude " ( from CTT 's categorizing the entries of the week as 2 themes:" Attitudes" and "Children ")

I thought Chloe Ai-Vy is so cute in this picture ( I have this pic and many others of hers around my desk to keep me company :) and would qualify as " Coyishness " in Children with Attitude, dont you think?

EmCi, I'm lay thit de nguoi here ( both Chloe and myself are on the heavy side :) and am afraid your willowy Francoise Hardy frame wont be able to withstand the invasion :) so be careful of what you wish !!

Cheers,

AiMy

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] My entry for this week's theme: "Attitudes"

To follow in Triet's footsteps who started with the first picture of  " Attitudes " in  Prague,  I ask for permission to submit the 2nd  bold picture as my entry for this week's  theme.  I have to respectfully inform the 2 blog owners that this may be my one and only  submission , for lack of talent ( hopefully, after this disclaimer , EmCi wont go after me and do`i no*. every week :)

But to make up for my ' Bi' da`i  da`i" /barrenness in the future,  there are 3 attitudes instead of one in this  entry :
- Satisfied as  in female " I did it ",
- Puzzled  Asian Tourist
and the most endearing one in my eyes :
- Mischievious as in boyish " Do I dare ? " :)

By the way, Triet,   I believe we had  our  first  wild boar / sanglier   dish at this restaurant , though I cannot remember its name, nor the names of other places in Prague ( Czech is a hard language to master). I admire your son for going there as an exchange student. Though most people speak english , but all the signs are in Czech , making it very confusing at the metro and bus stations.

BT,  I dont know how to compress  the file to a smaller size so I tried playing with the Collage feature of Picasso. Hopefully you can open it.
