RE: [MC74 and Friends] CLocks & Watches

Hi Bao Tram, Mai Chau, Caro & PHEH friends,

Caro,  I like the exquisite details of the Huntington Library clock very much!
This is a French clock circa 1760, more modest, from my small collection of French antiques.

Cheers,

Tuan

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] Statue and Sculpture

Hi BT,

I'm glad you liked these busts of Shakespeare, Dante, Voltaire and Cicero.
Your photos of dazzling, white statues on a brilliant, blue sky background are absolutely stunning! What great luminosity!
I'm sharing with you my attempts at plein air photo shooting, this time of a few lame garden statues in my backyard.

Regards,

Tuan

Hi Bao Tram, Mai Chau and friends,

Thank you, Bao Tram and Mai Chau, for your ever so kind words, which have encouraged me to post another entry for Statues, this time from my scanty collection of busts and statuettes of poets and thinkers in my small library.

Fondly,

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] Fwd: My entry for this week's theme "Transitions/Spring"

Dear friends,

Thank you all for posting so many beautiful pictures of spring from around the world.   They are uplifting and make me appreciate this season of hope, of renewal and rebirth.

I'm not sure what is the maximum number of entries one is allowed to submit for each theme, so I'm taking the liberty of sending in two additional pictures of Transition to Spring.

I'd like to share with you these cay nha la vuon pictures, which I took earlier this morning, to show you that spring has finally come to Texas, and the azaleas are starting to bloom.  This is the loveliest time of the year to be in Dallas.  We'll be enjoying wonderful weather for next two months, before the scorching heat descends on us again.

Please accept these pictures of my backyard flowers as a token of my friendship to you.

Kind regards,

Tuan

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] My Entries for This Week's Theme: Transition/Change

Dear Mr. Brainy, Mesdames Blog and friends,

Please accept my entry for Transition to New Life.  This is the picture of a cute two-month-old baby at a shelter for destitute girls who got pregnant out of wedlock.  This baby and his mom will soon be moving out of this housing because they are both recovered, and the mom has found a job to support herself and her child.
Best wishes for a brighter future to both mom and child!

Cheers,

Tuan

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] My entry for this week's theme "Transitions/Spring"

Dear friends,

For this week's theme, Transition to Spring, please accept the picture of my backyard wisteria in bloom:

How I love to sit under the beautiful wisteria and smell its perfume,
and admire the flowers cascading down like grapes, the delicate petals fluttering in the wind,
and reflect on their melancholic purple color…

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] My entries for LIGHTS

Dear Madame Blog and friends,
I learned through the grapevine that my entry for this week's theme was
disqualified due to the weakness of its light feature. To my understanding, the
light of the birthday candle flame was too small, compared to the overly
prominent birthday boy's face, and consequently - and sadly - this photo will
not make it into future collages.  I sincerely regret for such gross error of
mine and any inconvenience caused.
If second chance entries are permitted, may I respectfully submit the attached
replacement photo, the light of which, I earnestly hope, Madame Blog will deem
intense enough for her approval:
"Let the Lord's Light shine forth, let it light up my life from the darkness
within!"
Respectfully,
Tuan

Re: [MC74 and Friends] My entries for Simple Pleasure/Key to Happiness

Dear BT, MC and friends,

Forgive me if I'm out of sync and don't know which blog theme we are on now.  If the entry deadline is not yet past, please accept my late entry for "Simple Pleasure/Key to Happiness". This is a picture of my good friend, Chummy, with whom I enjoy simple and relaxing walks every evening.

Cheers,

Tuan

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] my entries for Through the window

Dear Friends,

Please accept my humble entry for this week's theme, Through the Window.
A bowl of pho with reduced fat, homemade marrow bone beef stock ,  accompanied with fresh mints picked from my 100% organic herb garden, plus a café sua da  personally prepared and deferentially served by me, will be the rewards for the first friend who correctly identifies the location of this photo.   A  zero fat pate chaud  bonus prize will be presented to the one who could determine the project shown in the picture.

Respectfully submitted,

Tuan

Re: [MC74 and Friends] My Fair Lady

Dear friends,

Now that you've identified an old dame, can you help me name this younger, contemporary fair lady, whose picture is attached?

"Her ebony bob coif lets out no straying hair,
In tight designer jeans she dresses with great flair
So young and smooth is her pretty porcelain skin,
Her radiant full moon face makes KTC's heart spin

If you have vision troubles, it's her who you call,
She commands, "Open your eyes, so I can treat y'all"
A Mona Lisa's smile lights up her tender face,
So enigmatic!… Who's this beauty full of grace?"
