Fw: [MC74 and Friends] my late entries for EGGS

My dear twin BiTi, other pho' nho\ms en herbe, hoa si~, thi si~, art critic Mr. GQ, and Forum friends,

Last Tuesday, before I left for my trip to Nairobi, my twin asked me what I thought of Eggs as the theme for the week after, in celebration for the upcoming Easter
.
I told her that it was a great idea; I also told her that I did not know what I could come up with for my entry, but in the worst case scenario, I had two full boxes of eggs in my fridge (stored for my kids, just in case Chuong got too tired of cooking for his little sister during my absence).

When I mentioned to my kids that I planned to take the easy approach by submitting a picture of the eggs in the boxes upon my return from my trip, Chuong told me that I should try to come up with something a bit more fun and creative, and suggested that I take a picture of a fried egg... with some bacon and sausages (!). To which, Mai Han excitedly volunteered that she would help me by decorating the egg with ketchup to make a face (!!!).

However it turned out that I did not need to be that creative, as Chance decided otherwise for me:
on the first day of the meeting that I attended, the organizers gave each participant a surprise gift. We were told to dip our hand into a big bag and fish out our surprise. So I dipped mine into the bag, and pulled out something quite heavy for its size. When I unwrapped it, I discovered to my delight, hidden in the middle of blue shredded paper, a Kenyan limestone brown egg.
Then earlier today, while waiting for my connecting flight in Amsterdam, I browsed this little museum shop at the airport. There they were, nestled in a basket, a whole bunch of colorful little wooden Russian eggs.
So here they are, the pictures of my eggs, the Kenyan one hidden in the little corner of a Nairobi garden, and the tiny Russian ones displayed on a plate that looked a little like a sunny side fried egg.

I love the entries submitted by my twin BiTi, CiTiTi, KL, TNS, Caro Nhu Hoa, Hien Lan, Thu Huong, Be' Lan. The photos and aquarelles are all beautiful, each one so distinctively artistic in its own way. I also love the colors that are captured in the photos.

And now that I am done with my entries, may I very gently remind the regular contributors who have not submitted ( ie, Trie^'t, Doug, Thua^\n, Caro TD, Khie^m and Lu*o*ng Hie^\n, Tra^\n Ha\ Tua^'n, Hi Du*c', Hy Hoa\, Trang, MInh Thuy', and last but not least........Ai' My~:-) ) to do so :-).
I can hardly wait to see your entries which I know will be as usual, special and beautiful.

I am not sure how our very romantic poets will come up with love poems about eggs (may be something like "sang' nay thu*c' day^,. nhin\ qua? tru"ng, anh nho*' de^'n khuo^n mat. em vo^ cung\"
:-)) but, if you do feel inspired by the theme, please send in your poems too.

Happy Easter to all.
From Be^n Bo*\ So^ng

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] My entry for this week theme: Egg

Hi BT, BL, CTT, TNS, KL, Thg, Caro TD

Your entries are so interesting, I love the variety, different interpretations of the theme, the personal touch, the quirkiness... everything! Thg's paintings are always a delight, deceptively simple yet so expressive...
Here are my 3 entries - Hope you'll enjoy them

Caro

The first one was taken in the Barcelona market - there were all sorts of eggs, from ostrich, goose, duck, poultry, quail, you name it! It was just amazing

The second entry : Assorted egg shaped pumpkins, hand decorated with famous scenes from Chinese literature, from the Monkey King, to the Three Kingdom...

My last entry is one of my favorite snacks "Son in law Eggs" which I serve with a sauce made with tamarind juice, nuoc mam, fried shallots, crushed peanuts and lots of coriander... Just delicious! For large parties, you can make this dish with quail eggs too...

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] New Theme - Egg

Dear CTT , BT, MC and friends…

Am I completely "HS" (hors sujet ) ?
When I read the new theme : anything egg-shaped,
I thought right away about the pink chair installed in the Garden of Montreux Palace and
this only during the jazz festival ! So I rushed to submit it with my all good intention !
(dun'g la méo mo' nghê' nghiep). For me the chair has an egg-shaped !This is up to you to judge.

Here I re-submit my entry : Egg shaped this time !Hope that the jury is generous.

Sorry, My rabbit looks a bit sad.

Enjoy sunny sunday,

BL

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] MC74 And Friends : MY ULTIMATE ENTRY FOR THE THEME " ATTITUDE"

Hi BiTi & EmCi,
As all my entries on the latter theme have been
deemed unacceptable by a very severe jury,
I dare resubmit an ultimate time, hoping they like
this picture and that suits their tastes.
I swear on my own head that I took the pic myself,
with MY camera, on a beautiful day last fall.
MY model was completely consenting.

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] Gentle reminder on behalf of my Twin :-)

OK, BT, you ask for it. Here is my contribution ....

I know I am not as cute as Chloe.  But people love me because, besides being plump and having a soft bun, I am hot and juicy, and full of energy (calories) to satisfy anyone.  After you have me, here, you would not want to do it at any ball park anymore .....
My nick name is #2 and my sis #1 is among the "101 things to taste before you die"
Even before you have me, you have an attitude ... of satisfaction as shown in "attitude 3"
:-)

Who am I (my real name)? and where I am from? You can check "attitude 2" for hint
 :-)
Have fun!
MThuy

P.S. You guys are so funny. I love all of your pics and songs, and stories, ....  Thanks!

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] entry for this week theme - Attitudes

Dear Friends,

To eat my own words and disclaimer :) I could not resist submitting a 2nd entry for the week : the photo of my niece, the apple of my eyes, for the theme of " Children with attitude " ( from CTT 's categorizing the entries of the week as 2 themes:" Attitudes" and "Children ")

I thought Chloe Ai-Vy is so cute in this picture ( I have this pic and many others of hers around my desk to keep me company :) and would qualify as " Coyishness " in Children with Attitude, dont you think?

EmCi, I'm lay thit de nguoi here ( both Chloe and myself are on the heavy side :) and am afraid your willowy Francoise Hardy frame wont be able to withstand the invasion :) so be careful of what you wish !!

Cheers,

AiMy

Bonne semaine  à tous ,

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] My entry for this week's theme: "Attitudes"

To follow in Triet's footsteps who started with the first picture of  " Attitudes " in  Prague,  I ask for permission to submit the 2nd  bold picture as my entry for this week's  theme.  I have to respectfully inform the 2 blog owners that this may be my one and only  submission , for lack of talent ( hopefully, after this disclaimer , EmCi wont go after me and do`i no*. every week :)

But to make up for my ' Bi' da`i  da`i" /barrenness in the future,  there are 3 attitudes instead of one in this  entry :
- Satisfied as  in female " I did it ",
- Puzzled  Asian Tourist
and the most endearing one in my eyes :
- Mischievious as in boyish " Do I dare ? " :)

By the way, Triet,   I believe we had  our  first  wild boar / sanglier   dish at this restaurant , though I cannot remember its name, nor the names of other places in Prague ( Czech is a hard language to master). I admire your son for going there as an exchange student. Though most people speak english , but all the signs are in Czech , making it very confusing at the metro and bus stations.

BT,  I dont know how to compress  the file to a smaller size so I tried playing with the Collage feature of Picasso. Hopefully you can open it.

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] Our weekly project - new theme "Attitude"

Dear fellow pho nhom/artists,

It's amazing what things you can find around your house collecting dust all these years, e.g. statues, and lo and behold a cow with a "diva" attitude.  Texas has more cows than people (close to 30 millions or so) and it just happens there's one in our backyard.  Here she is, all dressed up with cherry red lipstick on, and wanting me to snap pictures of her to show her off on the blog.  I think she said Mooooah !

Fw: [MC74 and Friends] My entry for this week theme - Attitude

Hi TNS and MC - I totally relate with what you're going through, it's the same with my sons, not only they do not let me take any photos of them (except for special occasions), they would prefer me not to talk about them to my friends either! Yes, Thuan, enjoy your kids while they're young and still idolize you... Mine used to think that their mom was perfect, but I feel that now it's even better because they still adore me with all my flaws but I cannot get away with everything any more!

Hi BT, love your impromptu shots, real attitude there! OK, here's my contribution, also a shot captured on the go...
