Here's my entry for this week's theme; "Hints of spring" made me think of falling in love for the first time dancing a first dance...

A.Vinh and I spent 15 minutes taking what should have been a simple snapshot.:-)  I have renewed respect for the photographers on this forum who reportedly take 1200+ pictures in a day, take pictures with one hand, take pictures with their cell phone, iPhone... all with amazing results.  Anyway, I'll let you guess which part of the picture I ended up using for the background.

Dear twin BiTi, fellow PNEHs, painters, poets, Mai Quang and Forum friends,

My additional entries for HINTS OF SPRING were taken yesterday on the streets of Manhattan where New Yorkers were celebrating St Patrick's Day in short, mini skirt, T-Shirt, and at the High Line where people were taking it easy under the soft sunlight of an early spring.
La' mua\ Xua^n was taken in my garden this afternoon.

Dear twin Bi Ti, fellow PNEHs, painters, poets, Mai Quang and Forum friends
I have many entries to submit for HINTS OF SPRING, from the streets of NYC celebrating St Patrick's Day yesterday to the Farmer's Market on Wednesday, to my own little garden to my neighbors' big backyard.
From my own garden were the cherry blossoms still fresh with morning dew on the new grass, and the green buds. My star magnolia tree being too tall for my little camera to do close up, I went to my neighbors' backyard to take picture of their magnolia flowers :-)
The violas were taken at the Farmers' Market.

Here are add'l entries for pets (Bich Lan's beloved dogs), Yesterday Tri gave me some tips on taking pets photos but I'm afraid that I have failed the teacher...

BT, you mentioned a great camera to recommend to me, what was it? I think it's about time for me to upgrade... especially since I lost my little Canon  to pickpockets in Paris last month...

My "hints of Spring"

Dear Em Ci Twin and friends,  I went out and shot these when it stopped raining this morning (finally after a loooong week of rain and more rain)  There are lots of hints of spring I tell' ya :-)  1.  Hot pink babies  (this is the story behind these babies.  One day a couple of years ago, after plucking dead buds/leaves off the cyclamen, I just threw them on the ground so the gardeners can blow them away later. Little did I know, they were going to seed and grow into little plants ... and 2 years later, now, they have these hot pink blooms (a beautiful cross between the fuchsia red and white cyclamen that I planted) Isn't nature wonderful ? :-)   2. Rien qu'une larme (can you tell why?)   3. Pygmy tulips (they are only about 10cm tall :-))   4 and 5.  I don't know what they are called but they grow back every year like weed     6. Cherry blossoms on the way    Hope spring is on its way where ever you are as well, BT

Really skillful photography! the close up shot is awesome, and how did you get such clear pictures of the humming bird? I tried to shoot some of them when we were in Costa Rica but they were all blurry as the birds moved too fast.
