I went to take some pictures of my first tulips, just open shy but then after a few shots, I realize that there were no card in my camera. Since I couldn't find an SD card, I can't take pics right? I'm so sorry. Let me offer a love poem instead... until I find my SD cards.

Dear MC,

Sorry I have not been online much the last two weeks due to a huge work load and having house guests. Just wanted to snatch a few minutes to submit my late entries for the Posters theme, pictures taken while playing tourist last weekend in DC with our house guests. These pictures of posters were taken at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden, a pretty cool place for relaxing and listening to live jazz music as part of the Jazz in the Garden program.

Thank you for stepping in to replace your esteemed twin while she's making merry in Paris. Will catch up with the rest of the email sometime soon! Good night from VA...

Fwd: [MC74 and Friends] "In the nick of time" Entry

Dear EmCi,
Life is indeed never fair, someone has to hold the PNEH fort while the
rest of us is out playing and enjoying a glorious spring day on the
other side of the pond.

Even so, we, or maybe just I ;-), didn't forget about you having to
burn the midnight oil, all by yourself, to produce the long awaited
weekly collage. So without further due and in the nick of time, here
it is, my very modest entry. It was taken while wandering aimlessly
the streets around Opera with a Berthillon cà lem, and desperately
looking for a worthy subject. Anything for you for Bà Chu Blog.

Have fun working on the collage! We can't wait...

Thanks dear MC for the beautiful flowers.
I only have 2 or 3 crocuses in my garden. Spring is so late this year.


J'ai vu la corneille quittant son arbre,
Descendre en un vol plané
Elle s'est posée sur la souche coupée
Sévère et silencieuse comme une ombre

Ah il lui manque un coup raté
Des complices, ou quelque grosse astuce
Et aucun animal n'est à ses trousses
Ni aigle, ni geai bleu, ni perroquet

J'ai vu l'herbe qui s'est transformée
De sombre et méchant tapis
En humides monticules verdoyants
Où se glisseront les jaunes pissenlits

Et j'attends encore demain
Où fleuriront printemps et beaux lilas
Où le temps ne fera pas grise mine
Quand le ciel bleu sera radieux de joie

Toute la bande de corneilles d'hier
N'est pas revenue aujourd'hui,
Et les arbres gazouillent de bruits
D'oiseaux qui commencent leur nid

J'ai vu l'eau verte miroiter
Entre les roseaux des berges inondées
La loutre noire toute luisante
Glisser bien vite entre deux courants

Mes pauvres tulipes sont plus qu'en retard
Elles font pitié avec leurs bulbes verts
Et le mois de mai qui déboule en trombe

J'ai vu la noire corneille monter

KL, very nice photo of you with the colorful posters... During lunch in NY, Quang told me that you live in my neighborhood, the South Bay... would you like to join the next MCP74 gathering? Look forward to catching up with you some time!

BT & MC, I have been swamped with meetings & follow up in NY and back in LA, so here are my late entries for the posters theme...


My first entry kills 2 birds with one stone: this poster is from the Neuhaus window in NY, showcasing delicious chocolates and celebrating Mother's Day... 

My second entry is taken at Ground Zero, the day after the announcement of Bin Laden's death... the sign says TRIBUTE WTC 9/11 - PERSON TO PERSON HISTORY

My third entry is taken during the Tax Free Exhibition in Singapore couple of years ago, it's a poster from the booth next to mine, and imagine I had to face this image all day / all week long... very distracting indeed...

Here are my entries for this week's theme. For a change, this time I don't have any story to go with them. It must be a huge relief for most of you to hear that :-).
I hope they will entertain you a little bit.

Me too, I just had dinner but looking at your mouth-watering pictures, I don't think I'd have a problem eating again :-)

OK, time to think about dessert! As I have not come up with anything original for the Tasting Pleasure theme and chocolate is my weakness, herewith are my two late entries to feast the eyes with, the 1st one at 2941, a local restaurant, a Spiced Manjari chocolate truffle with Virginia blackberry ice cream, cocoa shortbread, and toasted meringue, and the second, a Chocolate Praline Mousse Crunch at Passion Fish also in VA.

I've been trying to think of something more interesting than just pictures of food but at the end couldn't come up with anything. So, avec un peu de retard, here are my contributions. The first is P-Anh's special canh chua, the second is Nguyen Khoa Thong's superb lobster salad which he was kind enough to prepare for us in our home a few weeks ago. Enjoy.
