Fwd: my entries for thing that makes your heart sing

Dear BiTwin, fellow PNEHs, painters, poets, G Quang and Forum friends,

here are my entries for THING THAT MAKES YOUR HEART SING:

1- I love banh' chu*ng ( pan fried eaten with ruo^c' bo^ng i.e. thit. cha\ bo^ng). What would be Te^t' without banh' chu*ng? For me, banh' chu*ng is like Proust's madeleines :-)
So here it is, my unwrapped banh' chu*ng Te^t', photo taken yesterday
.
2- I went out to the garden yesterday after Nemo brought 16 inches of snow on Friday ( I actually had fun trying to take pictures of snow while it was falling, and the day after :-)).
 I
loved what I saw,  a little droplet of ice hanging from a dry leaf, snow forming a heart shape on the branches in the background.
3- What would I do without my camera? :-). I love my little camera. Here it is in its berry pink bag which I also love.
4- They always make me feel a little warmer inside whenever I see them during the early morning commute. Here they are between buildings captured a few weeks ago

Best wishes to all for health, happiness, luck, love, friendship, success in this new year of the Snake.

From Be^n Bo*\ So^ng

my entries for something Asian

Dear BiTwin, Fellow PNEHs, painters, poets, G Quang and Forum friends,
here are my three entries for something Asian taken a while ago.
The man and the mural (with some Te^t' flavor in it :-)) and My favorite kind of a cheong sam :-) were taken in San Francisco Chinatown.
The hats were from a window display at Saks 5th NYC.
If I have time, will try taking a picture of something Asian at home - no, no, do not worry- not a picture of myself :-)) to submit as my fourth entry :-)

Have a nice relaxing Saturday

my last entry for catching the light

Hi MC

I love your shot, it's amazing how you caught the sun rays!

Can I also submit 2 last entries
The first one was taken in Hong Kong couple of days ago, where my meetings were held
The second one was taken last night at the Burj Al Arab, the first 7-star hotel in Dubai... it's too ostentatious for my taste, but interesting to visit...

Cheers
Caro

my last entry for catching the light

Dear BiTwin, fellow PNEHs, painter, poets, Q. Quang and Forum friends,

I was walking on Madison Avenue a couple of months ago on a beautiful Saturday morning.
As I stopped to take pictures of the sunlight coming from over the rooftop of the church across the street to shine on the leaves, people stopped on their way to look:-). One gentleman even approached me and said "it is so beautiful! Do you think you can capture it? That would be really cool if you could".
I truly don't think I succeeded in capturing the beauty of what the gentleman and I saw, but here is the result of my attempt, as my last entry for CATCHING THE LIGHT, with John Denver's Sunshine On My Shoulder.

my entries for catching the light

Dear BiTwin, fellow PNEHs, painters, poets, Mai Quang and Forum friends,

"Well, my eyes are full of stars
But I just can't reach 'em... oh, how high they are
I gotta believe what I'm thinking can come true
But in a modern world that can be so hard to do"
( from Rise to the sun by Alabama Shakes)
I wish I could catch the light from the stars to submit as entry, but I had to settle for what I was able to do.
So here are my entries. The first one was a photo of a little portion of the gigantic Swarovski chandelier at the lobby of Top of the Rock. The picture was taken this Wednesday when I went to Rockefeller Center to check out Jacques Torres's chocolate shop.
The second one was a piece of ice I picked up from the ground of my garden and placed on the leaves to catch the light for the photo shoot. It kept falling on the ground and chipping away to finally become a heart shape (morale of the story for me: often things do happen for a reason, and what seemed not to work out at first, did turn out to be better in the end:-))
The third photo was also taken on the same Wednesday, on my way back to the office.

And finally, as a substitu
te for the light from the stars, a beautiful song by Alabama Shakes which I heard for the first time yesterday when my son gave me a ride and so I learned something new from him :-).

Have a nice weekend everyone
