Dear Forum friends,

Hate climbing the stairs? How about doing it at the beat of cha cha?
For a little taste of how it would feel, just watch our wrap up diapo for STAIRS...

As a surprise for this week and to give a little break to BiTi, the diapo was done by OCF.
The self-proclaimed "Thich' Nhay? Si\lo^" :-) OCF has selected Moon flower by Santana,
to showcase the beautiful images of stairs brought back from all over the world by our PNEHs.
Our warmest thanks to TNS, Caro NH, HL, Tua^'n, Quang for your beautiful contributions to this theme.
And now. let's put on our dancing shoes, click on the link below and turn the volume on ....

  2. One has to wonder what my big sis was doing at past 2AM when she sent the note. It's a sure bet she wasn't filing. Was she in the neighbor's yard taking pictures? Was she having a dream where she was cha-cha-ing up & down the stairs?...

P.S.: I thoroughly enjoyed the diapo; I must have zoned out for 2 weeks and missed a bunch of great pictures. Thank you to OCF, BiTi, HL, Caro, Tuan, and my big sis. (Why is Quang being thanked? Wasn't he MIA, having a great time in Montreal?!)

  4. My dear little sis and HL,
If you must know, I came back from the Filing Queen's house late last night, feeling so guilty and depressed because my kids said "Mom, di\'s basement looks neater than our house", that I could not sleep. So I turned on the diapo to cheer myself up. It did an extraordinary job of cheering me up with its cha cha beat, so much so that all I wanted to do at 2 am in the morning was running up and down the staircase, with the Moon Flower tune playing in my head, like the Energizer rabbit...

  5. You're too funny MC oi! I get so depressed every time I hear of filing and being neat, as I've given up all hope of ever catching up on my filing and getting organized. I'd rather play and dance all day, but I guess there must be a balance somewhere. I too enjoyed listening to Flor d'Luna and dancing both the rumba and the cha cha to it.

Thank you Mr. OCF for the beautiful diapo.

  6. Dear MC,
Can you share a secret? How do you climb stairs doing the Cha Cha Cha? :=) The ballroom Cha Cha Cha I know has 5 back and forth basic steps and you end up at the starting point. After I read your email, I said to myself, what a great idea and I tried it. To tell the truth, I wasn't going anywhere. :=)

    Dear Trang aka Dancing Queen,
Were you referring to the international rumba? We can rumba to Flor d'Luna?

    Inquiring mind wants to know.

Thank you MC, HL, Martha Rose and Dancing Queen.

  7. Well, she did say that she felt like the Energizer Rabbit. Perhaps she climbed two stairsteps for every step forward. Of course all that climbing and backing up made her a little light-headed, which is why she forgot who put together the diapo in the first place.

  8. Dear Inquiring Mind,

Flor d'Luna is actually more suited to the American Rumba, which is faster than both International Rumba and the Bolero. A good example of the International Rumba tempo is Slow Dancing in A Burning Room by John Mayer and for the Bolero it's Falling Into You by Celine Dion.

And lastly for your viewing pleasure are two quintessential rumba songs. The videos are quite... eh interesting to view; no wonder why rumba is called the dance of love (or the vertical expression of a horizontal desire :-)!

  9. Dear All,

OCF's cha-cha-ing video is now posted on the blog for posterity :-)

You can view it along with past videos at :

I can just picture Em Ci doing the cha cha up and down the stairs
at mid night (OCF oi, Em Ci probably did a 180 degree turn after
the 4th steps to the 2 steps back to keep going in one direction,
but I wouldn't try it unless I were the dancing or zumba queen hi hi

Cheers to all PNEHs for your continued energy :-)

  11. Dear OCF,
both my little sis and my twin were right. What they failed to mention was I did all those tricks in my dream where I was Ginger Rogers dancing away with (Fred) A stair(e) :-).
