Fw: [MC74 and Friends] Pictures with a Story from Tokyo

Here's my pictures with a story....

Walking back to my hotel today, I pass by the Zojoji temple of the Jodo sect of the Japanese Buddhism. It was built in 1393 and moved to its present location in 1598.
The main entrance gate, the Sangedatsumon, stands strong and sturdy, having survived many past fires, earthquakes and wars.
An interesting combination of traditional Tang inspired temple standing next to modern architecture, the Tokyo Tower
Definitely a place to pay my respect, as the Zojoji temple is dedicated to Jizo, the patron saint of travelers...

  4. Hello Caro

What a picturesque photo collage featuring the Zojoji temple, the venerable historic site
with quite an interesting, underlying story, seen from different angles
Strangely enough for a view, where old world charm meets, collides with new world glamour,
the Tokyo Tower, in a place where time seemingly stands still, past and present meshing
    in a frozen time capsule

Out of curiosity, what were those nippy globes or circular orbs for, lined up neatly on the orange color panel ?

    1. Hi Quang,

      Thanks for your sweet feedback
Those are the bronze ornaments on the Sangedatsumon front gate of the temple... this being a temple, I don't think they represent what you may think they do... : ))
      Cheers

    2. Hello Caro

Thanks for the quick, almost instantaneous response that left no more doubt, none whatsoever, in my mind :-)

I just couldn't help it, considering how graphic and suggestive the decorations were, even more so in a temple, of all places !

Anyways, have a Fun Stay in Tokyo, whatever you do,
      rain or shine
