Fw: [MC74 and Friends] my entry for "LIFE IMITATES ART - PNEHS RECREATE THU HUONG' S PAINTINGS"

Dear Thu Huong, BiTwin, fellow PNEHs, Poets, Mai Quang and Forum friends,
Here is my first attempt (and most probably last :-)) to recreate Thu Huong's three light bulbs which she submitted for the theme Black and White.
It took me a while to find these three translucent round light bulbs in the cluttered light bulb closet, since we are now using those ugly, opaque but energy saving screwy shaped bulbs. As one was much smaller than the other two, setting them in the same way that Thu Huong placed her light bulb did not come out as nice. It actually looked so clumsy that I had to find another way to present them. I realized I needed something to place the bulbs on, so it would not show the table underneath. Looking all over the house, I finally found a sheet of printing paper in lavender color. Then it took me half an hour to hold the bulbs still as they would kept moving around (sigh). By then the sunlight changed (more sighs)....
Finally, after many trials and errors, here it is.

I must say it was a great challenge and fun to try recreating Thu Huong's painting. I hope Thu Huong will not find my imitation insulting :-)

Let BiTi and me clarify that the rule of the game is not to copy exactly Thu Huong's painting. It's about interpreting it with your photography, letting yourself be inspired by a particular painting of hers and recreate the feeling, impression of it.

Have a wonderful Sunday

You sure are lightning fast, coming up with such clever, fun shot
when the subject just couldn't stand still, for God knew how long :-)
Also, such a charmingly cute picture that exuded warm feeling, a photographic Family portrait, the couple with the adoring Baby Bulb

Well, patience has its virtues after all

    Have a very Enjoyable Sunday

  4. Hello Mai Chau

Shown side by side, both Thu Huong's original and MC's reinvention, the new spin on the theme, were quite enjoyable,
    if not, eye pleasing
Interestingly enough, it was as if TH's great, original idea, the blueprint, initial design, has suddendly turned into reality, the finishing product coming alive, the light bulbs proudly displayed, MC's moment in the sun
